我的前半生

作文題目: 我的前半生

     依照潮州人的規矩，女子不該讀書，只需要做一位賢妻良母，逗留在家裏煑飯，做菜，掃地，做家務，相夫教子而已。1966年暑假，當時只有十二歲的我，卻逆了父親的主意，堅決要讀中學，以致引來父親不滿。當時我知道父親的意思，希望我到工廠工作，如車衣，做假髮，賺金錢幫補家計。幸運地，父親是一位米舖的「事頭」，我才僥幸地能夠讀到中學。為了令爸爸釋懷，放學後我便當自己是一位童工，如在舖前做買賣，送米，送火水，送雜貨到顧客的家裡等，在家裏又幫助媽媽做家務，如燒菜煑食，洗濯地方雜項等。如是者，辛苦地工作及讀書，才能讀到畢業。

     十七歲，踏足社會，在一些小學校做臨時教員，又到天台小學任教二年級。後來母校的夜校部和日校部，都聘請我做小學二年級班主任。如是者，渡過了三年時光，我才轉到寫字樓工作。

     不知不覺，又過了四十年，最近才退休離開工作單位，現在多數是留在家裏，閒時去旅行，去老人中心，樂也陶陶。晚上更到荃官讀書，亦是另一樂也。

      我的前半生是快樂幸福的，因為我遇到我的白馬王子。在我的眼中，他英俊，有禮，司職木工，我是佩服他的人品和職業，他的木工也是第一流啊，往往令我喜出望外。

     今年我六十一歲了，雖然我是一位長者，但是我仍是精神奕奕的。我有自信，跟著而來的生活是積極的，有希望的，也有夢想的，這樣的樂觀態度，必定能夠幫助我快樂地渡過餘生。老驥伏櫪，志在千里。

An accident occurred near Polo Harbour

Brushing away the sweat from my right eye, I dashed down between the narrow edge of the bicyle track and the pavement on 12th April afternoon.  I, with wrong adjustment, wore warm clothes on that day. It was warm on that day, but cold in the day before.

Rescued by the ambulance and the police, I was rushed to the Accident and Emergency
department.  I got the right distal radius fracture with the surgery done.

I will be more careful when I ride a bicyle again.  I will park aside if anything happens.

I am recovered.  The doctor advises me to get more rest.

Many thanks to the doctors, nurses, my husband, my sons and sister-­in-­laws, relatives and
friends for the very much love and great encouragement.

Caritas Flag Day

Caritas Flat Day held on 11.1.2014

Participated in the event, I feel much braver than before.  Truly, helping others is very happy and glorious.  I'll continue to serve in more fund-raising activities for non-profit making organisations. The event is meaningful because you can help many poor and disabled people.
